Inside Our First In-Person Verification Day

Last week, we did something we'd been wanting to do since we launched the People Board: meet our candidates face to face.

We rented an office in Sheikh Zayed, Cairo, and invited a small group of pre-screened candidates to come in for real, in-person interviews. The goal was simple — go beyond a resume and a profile page, and actually sit down with the people on our platform to confirm what we already suspected: that the talent on Forsa Connect is as strong as it looks on paper, if not stronger.

Why We Did This

Anyone can list "pre-screened" on a candidate profile. We wanted to back that up with something harder to fake — a real conversation, in a real room, with a real person on the other side of the table.

So we capped the day at a small group, cleared our calendar, and spent the day doing structured interviews with candidates who'd already gone through our standard screening process online.

What Stood Out

A few things became clear pretty quickly:

People showed up from far away. Some candidates traveled in from Ain Sokhna and Tanta — well outside Cairo — just for the chance to be interviewed in person. That's not a small commute, and it said a lot about how seriously people are taking their job search right now.

The English communication skills were strong across the board. Every candidate we spoke with was fully capable of supporting a US-based team in real time — no hesitation, no translation gaps, just clear, professional communication.

They were genuinely likable. This is harder to put on a resume, but it matters: these were candidates you'd actually want on a call with your team. Friendly, personable, easy to talk to — the kind of hire that makes a manager's life easier, not harder.

What Happens Next

Candidates who came through the day now carry an In-Person Verified badge on their Forsa Connect profile — a signal to employers that this isn't just a self-reported resume, it's someone our team has personally interviewed and can vouch for.
